Bag counts use typical mixed yields: approximately 0.30 cubic feet for 40 lb, 0.375 cubic feet for 50 lb, 0.45 cubic feet for 60 lb, and 0.60 cubic feet for 80 lb bags. Product yields vary, so use the value printed on the bag when available.
What concrete thickness should I use?
Thickness depends on loading, reinforcement, soil, and local requirements. Four inches (10 cm) is common for some pedestrian slabs but is not universal.
Is cement the same as concrete mix?
No. Cement is one ingredient in concrete. For this calculator's bag estimate, choose a packaged concrete mix that already contains cement, sand, and aggregate.
How much extra concrete should I plan for?
A material allowance helps cover uneven subgrade, form variation, spills, and concrete left in mixing equipment. Confirm the final quantity before the pour because running short can create a cold joint.
